 On Saturday, I had some doubts about how my birthday was going to go.  My boss let me out of work late...I went to Austin with my sister to pick up some art supplies, but the store I needed was closed...

So we just decided to drive around the city, since we were already there.  We came across this really cool vintage clothing shop and decided to stop to look around. I had to park a block away cause they didn't have a parking lot, so we went through the back entrance of the building and accidentally ended up walking into a really awesome toy shop!   

It was a Sanrio store/ Vegan icecream shop/ vintage toy store!  They had tons of japanese toys (like Rement miniatures and tons of stuffed food plushes!)  They also had a bunch of other cute random things and really old toys and games that I remember playing with when I was really young.  It completely made up for the other store being closed!

Then today, the mailman woke me up and I got a big package full of cookies from Ana!  After my cookie-gorging, I worked on some art stuff and then decided to check my email later in the afternoon.  Alas, I opened my inbox and noticed I had gotten an email from Crescent shop!
 

Thank you for waiting for Unoa for a long time. Your Unoa order is almost ready to be shipped. We will start shipping out packages from October 9th (Fri) at Japanese Time.

ZOMG!!!  I have been waiting since June for my kit, and it looks like I might actually get her sometime next week!  I guess that means I need to pick up sandpaper and some msc so I can put her together! :D

I hope this means that the next year will be awesome for me!



 

I'm suddenly in the mood to post doll pics, which I haven't done in a while.  I've been so busy with work and con stuff, I haven't had a lot of time to play with the dollies. :(

Anyway, I took this a few months ago at the Japanese Gardens in Houston.  My best friend brought her doll with her, too, so it was a lot of fun!  There are some more pictures over here on my newish Flickr account (because I forgot my password to Photobucket).

Getting ready for Tokyo in Tulsa this weekend.  Feeling really nervous about my art again.  At work, my boss hasn't been able to pay me for a while (like the last three weeks)....so I really hope my stuff does well at artist alley.  I kind of have a feeling of what will sell (dark gothic stuff) and what won't sell (cute, girly drawings).  Just finished this poster a few days ago-- totally have a feeling that I will sell 0 or maybe 1 of it if I'm lucky.  People only want to buy cat themed stuff or gothic stuff...seriously. >_<

Anyway, this will also be my first convention wearing lolita and I'm feeling really nervous about that too.  I've been "studying" lolita for the past year or two, and I've slowly been putting together what I think is a cute outfit....so I'm really hoping I don't commit any fashion faux pas...I'm really worried about that. *gulp*

Come out of lurkdom to say, I just pre-ordered a Unoa Sist kit!! :D  I've found that over the last year or so, that I have become more and more intrigued by Gentaro Araki's works, so being able to own one of his dolls just makes me want to do a little happy dance!  I can't wait to get this new girl home, although according to Crescent Shop, they aren't shipping anything until:
 
September, December, or February at the latest.

I think I would be more concerned if I hadn't of suffered through Tensiya's immense wait period. ._.

I took a ton of photos for Vita Ersatz, but I totally didn't get a chance to post any of them cause I've been so tired.  I gave my notice at my job two weeks ago, but they called me in to work all weekend since I only had a few more days left  with them (I guess they wanted to get as much as they could out of me).  They have officially left me worn out and feeling half dead. BUT I did start a new job officially today and hopefully it's a step in the right direction for me. 

Also, Ambrose got some new eyes and things.  Still searching for the perfect wig though.  Oh and please ignore the unmade bed in the background.  I really wish I had more room to take pictures...

Tada!  Christmas has brought me a new little resin man!  (Well, really, the DoA marketplace brought me the new little resin man, but he came to me during the Christmas season so...close enough).  Sorry for the bad photo; I have been forbidden from taking doll pics with the Christmas tree. (boooo............. -_-;;;)

P.S. Hurricane update:  Everyone I know got through with their houses (mostly) in tack.  People who lived on the beach (in Galveston, Bolivar, Crystal Beach, ect.) not so much.  It really sucks to see so many people without homes (although um no one seems to mention it, but I know for a fact...a few of those houses were built illegally on the beach in the first place). :/

Bad cos she's poorly drawn and the only scanner I have access to is horrible.  I painted her amour blue and wtf?  It looks not blue anymore.

Tamara and I took Beren to the beach last Saturday. It was much fun and resulted in a ton of pictures. Of course, hardly any of mine came out, but when is that not something new? The first two pics are mine; the rest are Tamara's. 

Well, I guess I should be getting to bed now. Senior project starts tomorrow and I'm dreading it.  Still in limbo as to whether my class with Guildersleeve is going to be canceled or now.  I really hope someone signs up for the class or they hurry up and sack the thing so I can move on with my life. -_-
